Forgiveness - a must for every person

God is the Lord of forgiveness

 MATTHEW 18:35 NKJ 35 "So My heavenly Father also will do to you if each of you, from his heart, does not forgive his brother his trespasses." God is the Lord of forgiveness. He is the beginning and the end of forgiveness. Throughout His life, Jesus Christ demonstrated the power of forgiveness. He made several decisions about many people - even His disciples. He proved many times that forgiveness is a decision we need to make about any negative feeling we might have about anyone.


Unforgiveness is a disease

 Like a pile of unhealthy substances in your body, unforgiveness has got a great ability to kill us. Many of today's diseases are also caused by unforgiveness. Today, an increasing number of people are under stress, have committed suicide or even killed others - just because human nature is unforgiving. But God-nature is filled with forgiveness. When you choose God, you also choose to forgive.


You pick it up in life

 Many of us work the journey of life with a trailer of unforgiveness. Many of us walk with it wherever we go, knowing that everyday, the trailer is picking up lots and lots of burden. Burdens we will never use, for we don't even need in our lives. Every move we make, every step we make - we pick up the burden of unforgiveness - when we don't forgive.


Forgiving gives the forgiver freedom to experience God working in their lives

 Everyday, our world is defined by persons and behaviours the truly shows that the Lord's Prayer "forgive us our trespases, as we forgive those who trespass against us" is yet to be lived. Unforgiveness is the most difficult thing we will ever do to ourselves. Actually, I am often amazed at how we normally think that forgiving someone is like making them a favour. The truth is, forgiving gives the forgiver freedom to experience God working in their lives.


Forgive, no matter what

 We must forgive people, regardless of what they have done. When you forgive your neighbour, when you forgive your wife/husband, when you forgive your children, this will greatly lift the heavy yoke on your should. You will feel like the feather weight champion - so light. When you choose to forgive to free yourself - and others - from the very burden of destructive tendencies. When you forgive to choose God over the Devil. When you forgive you choose to live than to death many times before your natural death. When you forgive you show the power of God and the Power of His love, so whatever happens, decide to forgive.


Decide to forgive today

 Like said before, forgiveness is a decision. Everyday, we are confronted by many things we must decide to forgive others on. Unforgiveness sentences our heart to a bottomless pit filled with pity and anger. Anger drives us to do things that are not godly. When we decide to forgive, we also decide to hear from God. There is no need for us to hold on to the feeling of unforgiveness. Unforgiveness is like an acid that slowly eats away the container it has been poured it. When we don't forgive, unforgiveness will eat us alive. Ultimately, we will be left with nothing belong to God, to praise God, to pray to God, to fast in the name of God and to give to God.


Forgiveness is a good fight

 COLOSSIANS 3:12-13 NKJ 12 "Therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, put on tender mercies, kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness, longsuffering; 13 bearing with one another, and forgiving one another, if anyone has a complaint against another; even as Christ forgave you, so you also must do". The good fight of forgiveness give us energy to make progress in our lives and the lives of others. It is the fight every person must win. It is a fight of faith.Every person is worth forgiving.


The life we live today makes unforgiveness look good. It makes it good not to give way when someone frantically wants to pass you while driving. It makes it good to want to have a child and not be with their father. It makes it good to fire people never caring about the impact of this on their families and community. It makes it normal to spread sickening rumours just because someone is HIV+. Whatever the type of burden of unforgiveness persisting currently in your life - you must let it go. Do not carry this with you. Decide to forgive today. There is power in forgiving today. Forgive before it eats you alive. Praise God for forgiveness. Give to God for forgiveness. Pray to God for forgiveness.

The power of pain

By Moabi Pitsi Psalm 34:18 confirms " The LORD is near to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit". For many of us living in today's difficult moments, we often find ourselves between the rock and a hard place. The rock is a difficult place for a human soul to be at. The hard place is a good as the rock. So, either way, life is just a continuum of hard things we all have to pull through. The Lord is near - everything that happens to us, assist us to know and understand God better. However, in difficult moments, the bible confirms that God is truly near us.
