Know the Saul-spirit in operation

By Moabi Pitsi Fear is a very dangerous spirit in the Kingdom of God. More so because where there is no faith   in God, fear kicks in to rule, to oppress, to divide, to poison, to find fault, to be angry - indeed to hate with a deeper hate. Believe it or not, tt happens that those in authority, those we truly trust, like pastors or elders, can turn out to be your worst worship nightmare we need to overcome. 1 Samuel 18 bears testimony to the spirit of reserval of faith that drags human beings into what they should never, ever become: “ After David had finished talking with Saul, Jonathan became one in spirit with David, and he loved him as himself. 2 From that day Saul kept David with him and did not let him return home to his family. 3 And Jonathan made a covenant with David because he loved him as himself. 4 Jonathan took off the robe he was wearing and gave it to David, along with his tunic, and even his sword, his bow and his belt. 5 Whatever mission ...

The power of pain

By Moabi Pitsi Psalm 34:18 confirms " The LORD is near to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit". For many of us living in today's difficult moments, we often find ourselves between the rock and a hard place. The rock is a difficult place for a human soul to be at. The hard place is a good as the rock. So, either way, life is just a continuum of hard things we all have to pull through. The Lord is near - everything that happens to us, assist us to know and understand God better. However, in difficult moments, the bible confirms that God is truly near us. Some of us focus so much on our difficulties and miss an opportunity to see God through our pain. "Is" also means present tense. So get it - God is near us all in difficult moments. The brokenhearted  - so often we experience so many painful emotions whether we are male or female, young or old, rich or poor. All things good and bad can break your heart. However, often, its the bad stuff th...

Men and fathers have a responsibility to create a church of all people.

By Moabi Pitsi A few days ago, we celebrated Father's Day. One cannot ignore such an important day in the history of men. It is one of the few days that acknowledge and celebrate men and fathers in a positive way. Besides the drive to make sure we buy all sorts of things to appease men and father's in our lives, there should be more to the story of men on Father's Day, especially in the church and the Kingdom of God. Men, fathers and the church of all people Men and fathers have a responsibility to make sure that the church accommodates all people. At one church, 97 % of congregants are women, and only 3 % male. The contrast is 80 % of church elders are males, but somehow driven through a largely women-based value system. What this means is that often, we are creating more and more values of woman-dominated church at the exclusion of the man. As a result, the churches find it difficult to appeal to the male-figure, let alone being male-friendly. On the flip side, we ...

Leadership – it is a sign of life well-lived

By Moabi Pitsi There has never been a more important time to have and harness great leadership in the world today. We owe it to our children, and their children’s children. We owe it to our hearts of hearts and deeds of deeds. We must be people of dreams. Leadership and dreams are best inseparable friends. Since the beginning of time, leadership has been instrumental in making sure that human life moves from glory to glory. All human beings, male or female, rich or poor, sexy or not, inspired or not – has that special and inherent provision of leadership. From dusty street corners, to the dark alley that sucks precious life out of our blessing, let alone the beauty and joy of life – we remain eyewitnesses of leadership failure or success. Jesus Himself, was the best example of what leadership should be. The entire ministry of Jesus Christ had a divine leadership lesson from which much of the world can learn today. Supporting the poor In a world where  “Ev...

We need more christians...

By Moabi Pitsi It takes courage to be a follower of Christ and to believe in His Word. It takes inspired leaders to lead an inspired life. Hebrew 13:7 rightly records, "Remember your leaders, who spoke the word of God to you. Consider the outcome of their way of life and imitate their faith". God is our source of inspiration. We can only get this inspiration through Christ Jesus. Our communities need Christ In the days in which we live, the christian families are facing numerous attacks from the prince of darkness. In the neighboorhoods we live in christians face torment of unknown pressures through drugs, sex and women and child abuse. There is only one answer to the this unfortunate phenomenon. The answer is Christ Jesus, the Son of the living God, the One who was, and is to come. Jesus is our partner for life - and beyond death - through to resurrection The ingredient of a life well-lived in Jesus Christ - the beginning and finisher of our faith...

Bitterness is the root of all evil - cut it out today!

By Moabi Pitsi  In Hebrews 12:15, the bible advises “See to it that no one misses the grace of God and that no bitter root grows up to cause trouble and defile many” . All of us, regardless of age and our state of mind, face many things that are unfair and unjust. These things hurt. When we hold on too tightly to them the pain also becomes unbearable. Research shows that about 70% of people are angry about something. This means, most of our time, there are things we don’t like about ourselves, others and the universe. This anger is at times difficult to see but is a poison in the lives of people who harbor anger. Avoid planting bitterness   We constantly see the fruits of bitterness every day: anger, wrath, slander, hate, and malice (or desire to see another suffer). There are many things that happen to us as we grow up: people cheat us, lied to us, gossip about us, scheme against us— and some of these things last as long as life. For your own good, we must l...
